How it works

S1 and S2 are not standalone terminals. They contain boarding gates only. You check in, clear security and clear immigration in your main terminal, then take the underground MRT shuttle to your gate. Terminal 1 connects to Satellite Hall S1; Terminal 2 connects to Satellite Hall S2.

Waiting areas by concourse

  • S1 — domestic waiting and boarding halls on Level 2, international waiting and boarding halls on Level 3.
  • S2 — domestic waiting and boarding halls on Levels 1 and 2, international waiting and boarding halls on Levels 1 and 3.

Lounges in the satellite halls

  • VIP Lounge 120B (S1, Domestic) — Wi-Fi, internet terminals and snacks.
  • VIP Lounge 135B (S1, International) — snacks and drinks.

If you are connecting at Pudong, allow extra time for the MRT transfer between the main terminal and the satellite hall, particularly on long-distance international connections.
